Simple Machines

Unit B of fourth grade science introduces simple machines. The fourth grade students demonstrated an understanding of simple machines by building a machine and demonstrating it in front of the class. Each student gave a brief description of how they built the machine and what materials were used. They then told how their machine could save time.

Valentine's Day Activities

In honor of Valentine's Day, I tied the curriculum into the history and meaning of Valentine's Day. To top it off, I was surprised with a singing Valentine that emphasized the points of interest to my students.
